FAB Grönlandet presents /Part of Stockholm Creative Edition February 3-7 2026/ the exhibition In the Context of Sigurd Lewerentz.
Commissioned site-specific installations by Ingrid Unsöld and Contem (Jack Dalla Santa & Cristian Lind)
Installations were created in dialogue with the architectural legacy of Sigurd Lewerentz. Invited artists Ingrid Unsöld and Contem have each developed new works using materials partly sourced from the building itself.
The project unfolds within FAB Grönlandet, a privately owned building designed by Sigurd Lewerentz and completed in 1932 for the former Riksförsäkringsanstalten. The building opens its doors for prebooked guided visits, offering rare access to a building that is normally closed to the public.

At Riksförsäkringsanstalten, designed by architect Sigurd Lewerentz, Ingrid Unsöld establishes a dialogue between Lewerentz’s work and her own. By merging concrete cores, once taken from the building, with ceramic elements, Unsöld is exploring the morphology of the column in a series of new pillars. Traces of Lewerentz’s work are interwoven with characteristics that have become central to Unsöld’s artistic identity.
Unsöld consistently explores the fundamentals of human life, seamlessly transitioning between the proportions of everyday objects vs architecture using stoneware as her medium. In this project, Unsöld further extends her practice into the field of architecture, activating her signature glazes and structures as ornamental elements.

With a philosophy centered around uncovering beauty in the overlooked, Contem is committed to recontextualizing resources as multi-functional, long-lasting pieces.
Contem´s works are developed through a restrained and methodical process where material and construction remain visible. Positioned between sculpture and functional object, the works create an ambiguous presence in the space and invite reflection on how simple interventions can transform material, form, and use.
